National Night Out At Tietze Park This Week
This year’s National Night Out at Tietze Park will be Tuesday, October 1 from 5:30-8:00pm.
National Night Out is designed to strengthen community relationship between residents and public service organizations such as police, city departments and charitable organizations that serve the community. This year’s event is hosted by three neighborhood associations – Lower Greenville, Lakewood Heights, and Lowest Greenville West and The Friends of Tietze Park Foundation.
On hand will be police officers to talk to about crime concerns. In addition, we will have exhibits from quality-of-life and charitable organizations. As usual we will have the face painters, hotdogs, musical entertainment, and a bounce house.
This is a great opportunity to have some fun, meet some neighbors, and learn a little something about health and safety. Look for the manila flyer on your doorstep. The event will take the place of our regularly scheduled November LGNA meeting. Be sure to stop by and say hello!

The only residential burglary this month was of Continue reading “August 2013 Crime Report”

The numbers are up a little this month. The Central Division is currently seeing a increase in crime numbers over what the other areas are seeing. Most of that is coming from outside our neighborhood, but we are seeing some increases as well. Our area is up this month in thefts and break-ins but still within the range of normal for us. The biggest jump was in car break-ins. (Story below) BMVs currently account for 43% of “Part 1” Continue reading “July 2013 Crime Report”
June 2013 Crime Report
We keep getting a little better every month on the numbers. For the first time ever, one of our reporting areas went an entire month with NO SERIOUS INCIDENTS. Congrats to the folks in the Belmont Addition CD on keeping it safe! We had only one burglary in the neighborhood this month, way below normal and 9 car break-ins also a little below normal. There was a robbery at knife-point of a waiter walking home after his shift. The suspect was a black male 25-30 years, 6’2″ 180- Continue reading “June 2013 Crime Report”
