Geneva Heights Elementary School’s New Campus Ready for Students

The staff and administration of Geneva Heights Elementary School (GHES) are thrilled to welcome back students to their newly renovated campus.

After two years at a temporary location, families and new members of the GHES community can finally enjoy the upgraded facilities. Construction crews are hard at work putting the final touches on the campus to ensure everything is ready for Meet the Teacher Night on August 8 and the first day of school on August 12.

The Geneva Heights community’s resilience and patience have paid off, and the newly renovated campus will be ready to inspire and support students for years to come!

Stay tuned for more information about an open house during which members of the LGNA community can tour the facility.

– ForwardDallas Public Meeting – 6/17/2024

The City Planning Commission (CPC) has been working for quite a while on an initiative called ForwardDallas, which is an effort to re-envision the way that public & private land is used within the city. Their goal is to create a set of guidelines which CPC and the Dallas City Council will use to make decisions about future redevelopment and zoning change requests.

The CPC recently released the June 2024 version of the Draft Plan and they will be holding a public meeting on 17 June 2024, 9am-5pm to receive comments from the public. Residents may attend in person or online.

The city’s ForwardDallas website has links to the Draft Plan, new “placetype” map, detailed information on how to provide feedback, how to participate in the upcoming meeting, and more. Check it out!

Recap – 2024 Happy Hour & Annual Meeting

Welcomes and Farewells

Approximately 60 neighbors gathered at River Pig Saloon on May 21, 2024 for LGNA’s 2024 Happy Hour & Annual Meeting.

Once the attendees were properly situated with plates full of noshes and drinks in hand, the meeting was soon called to order and the business of electing new LGNA board members commenced.

Congratulations to Lisa Fleury and Mike Savage for being duly elected to the LGNA Board! We are looking forward to working with you.

With the formalities over, the focus of the event rightly shifted to recognizing and toasting the many contributions of longtime board member and CrimeWatch captain, Darren Dattalo. Unfortunately for us, he is pulling up stakes and heading for the Pacific Northwest, but we are very excited for his new adventure. Thank you again, Darren, for everything you’ve done for LGNA over the years!

Also departing – coincidentally to the Pacific Northwest – is board member Seth Kranz, who recently served as Vice President. Thank you again, Seth!

Hope you enjoy these fun snaps from the event!
