Crime Alert – Doggie Door Burglaries

Logo_CrimeAlertThere have been three incidents in the last week involving a burglary where the suspect gained entry through a doggie door. The incidents happened in the area near Stonewall Jackson. The first incident happened last Wednesday on the 59xx block of Kenwood, the second happened yesterday on the 59xx block of Revere.

The third incident also happened yesterday on the 61xx block of Ellsworth. In this incident, the woman encountered the man in her kitchen. She described him as a Hispanic male about 5’5″ with a buzz cut wearing shorts and a t-shirt.

I learned of this from neighbors discussing it on NextDoor.com.  I have not confirmed all the details, but it appears that at least two of these occurred mid-day based on the comments that appeared in the discussion.

Please be on the look out for someone matching this description and please call 911 right away and tell them that someone matching the description of a suspect in recent burglaries was spotted. And if you have a doggie door on your home, please secure it when not in use.

And consider signing up on NextDoor.com. This is great tool for our neighborhood to communicate.
